Terms of Use

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using MacroTerrain, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use MacroTerrain for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the service. Additional terms shown when you enroll in a trial, account, subscription, dataset, report, or other offering become part of these Terms for that offering.

2. Research and information service

MacroTerrain provides source-linked research, data compilation, data visualization, software tools, reports, exports, modeled estimates, and impersonal analysis concerning infrastructure, projects, companies, financing, counterparties, and related systems. The service is provided solely for research and educational purposes.

MacroTerrain does not consider your portfolio, financial condition, objectives, risk tolerance, tax circumstances, or other personal needs. Nothing in the service constitutes investment advice, an investment recommendation, an offer or solicitation, a suitability determination, a valuation opinion, a credit rating, or legal, tax, accounting, engineering, brokerage, fiduciary, or other professional advice.

Accessing, purchasing, receiving, or using MacroTerrain does not create an investment-adviser, broker-client, fiduciary, attorney-client, accountant-client, engineer-client, agency, partnership, joint-venture, employment, or other professional relationship. The complete Research and Scenario Disclaimer is incorporated into these Terms.

3. Accounts and access

When account access is offered, you must provide accurate information, keep credentials and authentication codes secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Access is personal, limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable, and restricted to the authorized access period and tier.

You may not share accounts, sessions, access links, codes, or credentials. You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by MacroTerrain’s own failure to use reasonable security. MacroTerrain may require verification, reset credentials, or restrict access to protect the service.

4. Trials, subscriptions, renewals, and cancellation

Any trial length, promotional period, subscription price, billing frequency, included features, renewal terms, and cancellation method will be clearly presented at enrollment. Those offer-specific terms control if they conflict with a general statement in these Terms.

If an enrollment page states that a trial or subscription renews automatically, you authorize the stated recurring charge until cancellation. MacroTerrain will obtain affirmative consent before charging and will not rely on the Weekly Brief consent checkbox as payment authorization. Stripe is expected to process payments when paid enrollment is introduced.

You may cancel using the account controls made available for the subscription or by contacting hello@macroterrain.ai. Unless the enrollment terms state otherwise, cancellation stops future renewal and access continues through the paid period. Refund eligibility is governed by the offer-specific terms presented at enrollment and any rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

MacroTerrain may change prices or plan features prospectively after providing any notice required by the applicable enrollment terms or law. A price change will not be applied retroactively to a completed billing period.

5. Acceptable use and restrictions

You may use MacroTerrain and expressly enabled downloads for your own internal research and evaluation, subject to your access tier and any notice attached to the material. You may not, without prior written permission:

• Republish, sell, sublicense, distribute, publicly display, or provide the service or protected content to another person.
• Scrape, crawl, bulk download, systematically extract, mirror, or reconstruct the database, taxonomy, relationship graph, reports, or source-linked records.
• Use protected content to train a model, create a competing database, map, research product, or derivative commercial service.
• Reverse engineer, bypass access or usage controls, probe for vulnerabilities, interfere with the service, or use automated means beyond an interface expressly provided by MacroTerrain.
• Share credentials, conceal identity, submit malicious material, or use the service unlawfully.
• Submit confidential information, client information, material nonpublic information, personal data about another person, or content you lack authority to provide.

6. Intellectual property and public information

MacroTerrain and its licensors retain rights in MacroTerrain’s original software, interface, graphics, branding, selection and arrangement of data, annotations, taxonomies, reports, exports, and other protectable expression. These Terms do not claim ownership of public facts, public filings, government records, or third-party material.

Permission to view or download content does not transfer ownership or grant a right to redistribute it. Copyright, source, report ID, generation date, data cutoff, and disclaimer notices must remain with any authorized copy.

If you submit a correction, source, or feedback, you grant MacroTerrain a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to evaluate, verify, reproduce, adapt, and use it to operate and improve the service. You represent that you have authority to make the submission.

7. Sources, changes, and service availability

MacroTerrain may add, remove, correct, reclassify, or update sources, data, features, reports, or access tiers. Public disclosures and third-party information may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, corrected, or superseded. MacroTerrain does not promise that a particular source, project, company, feature, report, or export will remain available.

The service may be interrupted for maintenance, security, provider outages, capacity limits, legal concerns, or circumstances beyond reasonable control. MacroTerrain may modify or discontinue all or part of the service, subject to any rights stated in an active paid offer or required by law.

MacroTerrain has no duty to monitor every source, discover every event, update any item on a particular schedule, correct third-party material, or notify a user of every correction, delay, outage, or change. Links to third-party websites are provided for reference. MacroTerrain does not control or endorse those websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, content, or privacy practices.

8. Warranty limitations

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MacroTerrain and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” MacroTerrain disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, noninfringement, accuracy, completeness, availability, and error-free operation.

MacroTerrain does not warrant that research, derived information, modeled estimates, scenarios, alerts, or reports will be complete, timely, accurate, suitable for a particular decision, or predictive of any event or result.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MacroTerrain and its owners, personnel, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, trading losses, business interruption, or decisions made or not made using MacroTerrain.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of MacroTerrain and its owners, personnel, contractors, licensors, and service providers arising from or relating to the service, content, or these Terms will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid directly to MacroTerrain for the service during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) one hundred United States dollars.

These exclusions and limitations apply regardless of the legal theory, whether contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute, or otherwise, and even if a party was advised that damages were possible. They do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

10. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MacroTerrain and its owners, personnel, contractors, licensors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, losses, judgments, damages, penalties, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from or relating to: your unlawful or unauthorized use of the service; your breach of these Terms; content, data, instructions, or materials you submit; your infringement or violation of another person’s rights; or your redistribution or commercial use of MacroTerrain content. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from MacroTerrain’s own conduct for which indemnification may not lawfully be required.

11. Suspension, termination, and changes

MacroTerrain may suspend or terminate access for security concerns, nonpayment, misuse, legal risk, or violation of these Terms. When access ends, you must stop using nonpublic content and, if requested, delete confidential or unauthorized copies. Provisions concerning ownership, restrictions, disclaimers, liability, and disputes survive termination.

We may update these Terms prospectively. The effective and last-updated dates identify the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the website, account, or another reasonable method. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

12. Disputes and general terms

Before initiating a formal claim, you agree to send a written notice describing the dispute and requested resolution to hello@macroterrain.ai and allow thirty days for a good-faith attempt to resolve it. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief, preserving a claim before a limitations period expires, or using a procedure that cannot lawfully be restricted.

You agree to receive agreements, disclosures, notices, and records electronically. MacroTerrain may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of the service. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations without prior written permission.

MacroTerrain is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including provider failures, internet or utility outages, natural disasters, labor disputes, governmental action, war, terrorism, civil disturbance, or malicious attacks.

If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Headings are for convenience only. No person other than the parties has a right to enforce these Terms.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Research and Scenario Disclaimer, applicable enrollment terms, and any written license expressly issued by MacroTerrain form the entire agreement concerning the service and replace prior or contemporaneous statements about the same subject.
